Take a Spin Around the Rink

Skating on the ice, at the beach, or around the disco ball, you’ll work leg muscles you didn’t even know you had (but you’ll feel it the next day!). Besides the physical benefits of strength, flexibility, and cross-body coordination, skating also offers the opportunity to practice:

  • patience--with yourself as you learn
  • perseverance--to get up when you fall
  • endurance--to continue until you get the grasp of it
  • balance--to stay upright despite the unexpected bumps, twists, and turns you may encounter
