Punch It Out

Depending on how frequently you tune into the nightly news, where (and with whom) you work, and what freeways you take on your daily commute, you may deal with feelings of anger, frustration, and injustice more often than you’d like. When yoga and deep breathing just won’t cut it, find a punching bag. Most gyms now have them hanging in their aerobics rooms. But if a kickboxing class isn’t your thing, slip in a few cross hooks and jab the bag in between classes when no one is looking. Or go for the real thing and check out a boxing gym in your area. Last resort, pull your mattress off the bed, lean it up against a sturdy wall, and pound out your frustrations. Allow any negative feelings you may be holding to be cathartically released with the directed and deliberate physical exertion of your impact.
